Cleaning bag for toys & more

Posted on 8:32 am

I know everyone has seen those net bags they have for toys in the bath tub. I wanted one that closed & opened easily. I also wanted to be able to put it in the dish washer for cleaning toys & also for stuffed animals in the laundry.

The bag was very easy to assemble, much cheaper than store bought, & perfect for what I wanted.

You will need netting, velcro, & bias tape. Thats it…..well thread too.

Joanns carries different types of netting but this is mine.

My bag measures 13×13. I folded my netting over on its self so you have 2 layers. Then attach the bias tape to the top of the bag which is the opposite side of the fold. Each end gets its own strip if bias tape.

Should end up like this…

Sew the bias tape to the netting.

You could leave the bag to be open or add a zipper. I chose to use velcro cause its easy to sew on & less likely to break. Attach the velcro to each side making sure its going the right away.

Sew the velcro all the way around it.

At this point stick the velcro together. Use bias tape to bring the sides together to close up the bag.

I wanted to add loops onto mine. I used the left over bias tape & just folded it over onto itself & sewed it.

Make a loop & attach. This part was kind of tricky because I sewed them at the corners where there was several layers of bias tape. I suggest you use a larger needle, extend the stitch length, & take it slow.

Once I made it I wanted to make more for so many uses.

This is a good idea. So much you can do with these, even for those delicate washable. Thanks for the idea. You are too clever. LOL
